Introduction to the Webbs
¡Hola! Greetings from Bradley and Caitlin Webb!
Our exciting missionary journey has already begun, and we are so excited to share with you about what God has enabled!
We officially received an acceptance letter to work with Encounter: Equipping in Ministry, the school that is our place of service! Our school is located in Antigua, Guatemala!
We have finished all the paperwork for RCE International, who is our sending organization! They will help us manage all of our financial and communication obligations. They will receive all of our monetary donations, and will then be able to properly provide tax receipts for donors. RCE also provides training when necessary, and other individual needs, like spiritual counseling.
The two teachers currently at Encounter provide a Christian education for kindergarteners up through seniors in high school, in one building. The students who attend are missionary children, whose parents' mission work is within an hour’s drive from the school. The teachers are following a designed curriculum, and cover different areas based on their strengths, etc. When we work there, we will help divvy up the work so they don’t have as large of a load to handle. Caitlin would be helping more with the younger children’s teaching courses, while Bradley is likely going to work with the older students more. Our responsibilities and lessons will become more specified as we draw closer to their fall start in 2025.
We are currently in the middle of our fundraising journey, with the goal to raise enough to move to Guatemala in March of 2025. We only have 11 months until we move! While we are not yet in the field we are meeting with people and churches to talk in person, asking for prayer and support. We are also practicing Spanish using Duolingo. Once in Antigua, we will attend Spanish language classes and cultural courses, to help us better understand the language and culture in person. We will also be looking into semi-permanent to permanent housing options in those first few months in Guatemala.
We look forward to seeing how God provides, and how He impacts this journey for everyone involved; whether us and our future co-workers, the children in our future care, our family, and how He impacts anyone who feels led to support us in any way!
We hope you enjoyed this first newsletter from us!
Blessings to all, and may the glory be to God.
Sincerely,
Bradley and Caitlin Webb
